Sport Motorcycle Tie Down Bundle

All parts were there and everthing fit perfect. I'm very happy with the products, how ever, I thought the straps would be free with the purchase of this ramp.

I ordered the Sport tie down bundle by mistake; I thought the "Sport" tie downs were for the "Sport" rack that I have. The rear tie down is a good design with heavy duty hardware that goes over the rear tire and attaches to the rack with ratcheting straps. The front tie down has an expanding cuff arrangement that stretches to accommodate handlebar length. The cuffs slide over the handgrips, and straps inside the cuffs attach to the rack and tighten with ratchets. Rather than the single large piece with the cuff/strap arrangement, I prefer individual straps that I can attach to the handlebars one at a time, using the rearmost strap to hold the bike upright while I attach the other strap. I used the cuff strap once, and it held the bike securely, but I prefer (and use) individual straps.

Even though I ordered the wrong bundle these ties downs work great. I am securing a Yamaha TW200 to the Mototote Sport carrier on the front of my 3500 pickup. The rear tire tie down works great as is. I mistakenly ordered the “Sport” tie down kit which I discovered has front tie downs made for “Sport” type bikes and these do not work well with a TW200 that has Bark-Buster type hand protectors on the handle bars. I ended up modifying the front tie downs using 3/16” chain quick links (two of them on each ratchet) replacing the nylon strap that is supposed to slide over the ends of the handlebars on a Sport Bike. Then I added a single 5/16” quick link on each side and this 5/16” quick link is what attaches to the hooks on the carrier. All in all this worked out better than if I had ordered the right straps to begin with….but if I was doing it over I’d just order the right straps.
They do secure the bike well. I am happy I got them AND happy I got the Sport Carrier from Mototote.

These straps work great for all types of motorcycles. They definitely make strapping my motorcycle down quick, easy, and secure.

The rear tire strap worked excellently. The handle bar loop holes were relatively small, making it difficult to fit over my small bar end mirrors.

I already had some robust tie downs for the front of my bike and what I really wanted was the rear tie down for the back tire, which uses a thick piece of material and two ratchets to hold the rear tire/bike in place. I used it on my 440lb. 2023 KTM 890 Adventure R, and it held my bike in place perfectly.
