I bought this tire tie down the same time I bought the carrier , on the second time i used it I noticed the hook kept on coming off the carrier, it appears the piece that keeps the hook look into place has to spring tension . This caused the hook to come off when pulling up. I’ve learned to just live with it , it’s just an annoyance when it comes undone or when the ratchet is stuck open.

When I bought my Mototote about 18mo ago I skipped buying the tire sling, figuring I'd just use my tie downs and save some money. The tire sling is a must have to keep you rear tire from bouncing around on a hitch carrier or trailer. It is simple and quick to use while providing first class tie down for the rear wheel.

A great addition to the rack. More peace of mind while a bike is loaded on it.
