TECHNOLOGY & FEATURES

MTX Platform

Heavy-duty steel main support connects to the receiver tube, hauls up to 600 lbs. (272 kgs.), supports chock, track, and orientation adjustability alongside the attachment of innovative components.

StableStop Chock Wide

One piece tire mount locks front tires up to 5" (125 mm) wide into chock, maximizes support, and holds the bike upright while securing tie-downs.

WebGrip Track

Woven steel track reduces carrier weight, secures rear tires up to 8.5" (215 mm) and accommodates up to a 65" (165 cm) wheelbase.

BroadPull+ Arm (Front)

Patented front tie-down arm provides main support for motorcycle stabilization. Rear tie down arm prevents rear tire from bouncing out of track.

EasyLoad Ramp

A long webbed steel ramp increases tire's traction and eases the loading angle. Ramp hooks into tire track and will not disengage during loading.

HitchLift Receiver Tube

Innovative 2" receiver tube counteracts common vehicle hitch droop with a slight upward bend, ensuring that the rack is angled correctly from the back of the vehicle. Provides additional ground clearance, attachment of ramp and distance from vehicle adjustability.

ZeroWobble+ Hitch Mount

Upgraded single-bolt hitch mount installs quickly, requires fewer tools and eliminates rack movement in transport.

John - MotoTote Customer

"I had a cheap carrier but I did not trust it with my sport bike, then bought a great box trailer, but then got tired of hauling trailer to track days, with extra gas, bridge tolls for trailers, and having to drive 55 with a trailer. Now I have 1500 Ram Van with MotoTote for ZX10R. Love it!"

Probably the best option for any SUV

I’ve had two motorcycle hitch carrier prior for my 4Runner. Neither was particularly confidence inspiring. Recently I decided to buy a motorcycle about a thousand miles away and absolutely did not want to use one of my other hitch carriers and I didn’t particularly want to use a trailer either. So I gave mototote a shot.

The bike is a 278lb dirt bike which is less than half the load rated capacity with everything I’ve done to it. So that wasn’t a concern the chuck and ramp was however.

Luckily the mototote did not disappoint. I did 995 miles with it attached and no bike loaded. Then I did 1128 miles with the bike on the back hauling it home. After 38 hours straight of driving absolutely nothing loosened. The bike didn’t move an inch. The thing exceeded expectations to say the very least. So, I would without a doubt recommend this if you have a similar use case.

I would recommend the deluxe strap kit and the light kit. Especially for long distance use or rough terrain use.

I have also talked with mototote about my biggest gripe which is the packaging this comes in. My package had busted open in transit which didn’t lead to any missing parts but it did lead to multiple parts being marred down to bare metal which had started to rust prior to me even receiving it. They sent out a touchup kit no questions asked though which is why it’s keeping the 5 stars. Definitely recommend.

Best Customer Service Period

I purchased few items including a toe hitch from these guys. The after sale service has been amazing. Fast and with solutions. Not everything is always perfect but these guys come as close as it can be.

Still finish issues

Went with mototote because of the lighter weight, I plan to use it fairly regularly and that will pay off in the end. Carrier feels very solid and I have no qualms about rolling my 1290 super duke on it; but for the cost I expect a better finish. The carrier arrived with multiple marks, in several cases down to the bare metal which I now need to paint to prevent rust; the central tab for the ramp was also slightly misaligned and wouldn’t let me slide the end onto the end point, a quick tap with a hammer fixed that issue. The clip for the ramp is a nice touch, I’ve seen others that require tools to remove and reattach.

MotoTote Sport

Was very hesitant about using a hitch carrier to haul my dual sport bike. Looked at cheaper carriers first. Decided to spend the extra money on the Sport and very glad I did! Extremely pleased how sturdy it is with my bike loaded on it. Highly recommend!

Stronger hardware, better packing

Washers are not strong enough to withstand the torque specs recommended by MotoTote, they bend (cup). The “zero wobble” is not exactly no wobble. The U bolt anti rattle system that other companies use is better in my opinion. The styrofoam packing used to “protect” the parts during shipping should be twice as thick. Most of the parts were scuffed, paint damage during shipping. Even though a little bit heavier, I feel the carrier that Harbor freight sells is more sturdy and stronger hardware.

Thank you for the review. FYI, it's normal for the washer on the ZeroWobble+ to cup. Once broken in (cupped) it should not need further tightening. We understand the cupping does not make a good impression so are updating the ZeroWobble+ with a flange bolt. If you (or any customer) would like us to send you a flange bolt free of charge, just let us know by emailing us at contact@mototote.com.
I have to respectfully disagree with you on the Harbor Freight carrier.

Sport Hitch Carrier

I use this carrier for a Yamaha YZ250FX using a Class 3 hitch. It handles USFS roads with no problem. The fabrication and finish details are second to none that I have used. Totally worth the money considering you have several thousand smackers dangling from the back of your rig.

Good and about to get better...

Sport carrier purchased back in early 2021. Did not come with the updated zero wobble bolt so ordered one and worked great. After hauling my Yamaha Xmax 2000 miles the only issue I had was the droop of the carrier. On my motorhome I'm in the very last hole into the receiver so not a lot of extra support in there. Getting ready to order the updated extended receiver tube. Should allow for more shaft into the receiver while fixing the droop issue. Will probably get the updated bolt kit also. Once these minor issues are taken care of a great hitch mount carrier should become perfect. Thanks Marvin for the fast replies to my emails. Link to my video on tying down the Xmax.

Excellent hitch carrier + the TireSling makes it pretty stable !

As a short rider I struggled with my BW carrier because of the bolts on the track base and I decided to go with a MotoTote Sport for the chock and the flat track it offers. It is an excellent carrier. I like the build quality and their ZeroWobble+ design. I tried a short ride with my 450lb sport bike and my small Adv bike (360lb) on it and everything looked just right. I have not had a chance to go longer distances but I'm sure it'll work just fine. The TireSling Ratcheting Tie Down is another great addition to keep the bike stable. I used tie downs in the front and back and the TireSling kept the bikes pretty stable.

They have excellent customer service !!
