It would be nice to have small rubber pads on the ramp mounting pins. So they don’t rattle. I cut small pieces of an old innertube and glued them on.

This is an updated review to my last one (with pictures this time). I completed a 3,200mi trip from Texas to the Pacific Northwest, had some really rough/ bouncy roads going through Arizona and Utah. With the motorcycle rack mounted to my front bumper I had my bike in view the whole time, and I must say I’m extremely impressed with this rack! There were absolutely times that I was expecting the rack to fail not because of its construction but because of the massive forces that it handled. I would say that I’d buy it again but I honestly don’t think that I’ll ever have to because this thing is built like a tank!
For reference my motorcycle is a 2025 Kawasaki ninja 1100sx se, it weighs in right around 520lbs wet. I also had the mount set into a drop hitch that pushed out the rack another 9” which means that the forces that far away from the pivot point of the truck are multiplied exponentially. Loading/unloading my bike after I set it up properly for my bike was worry free. The initial set up to make sure your front tire sits properly in the saddle is a little bit of trial and error and is arguably the hardest part, but once it’s set you’re golden forever.

Needless to say if you’re on the fence about the max+ rack, it is ABSOLUTELY worth the money. On my travel I had lots of people asking about it and I always pointed them to MotoTote. If I trust it with my $17k bike you definitely can too.
Only caveat is that I added a couple anti rattle hitch clamps (one for the rack and the other for the drop hitch) because there is some slack in the rack shank allowing the whole setup to bounce and rotate in the hitch. It’s marginal but it’s worth mentioning.

Side note, I bought the sport motorcycle tie down bundle that comes with the rear wheel strap and “handle cuffs”. I strongly recommend the rear wheel strap, but I’m not a fan of the handlebar straps because you could potentially ruin your throttle tube, also my motorcycle is wide enough that when everything is strapped down the ratchets would make contact with my fairings, so instead I used ratchets to attach to my triple tree.

Max+ Motorcycle Hitch Carrier

Purchased Max+ for loading Yamaha MT-10 Gen-1 and in later Yamaha R1M. Instructions on YouTube helped with setup. I wish MotoTote to include tools, wrench/socket sizes in instruction with Torque values.
We drove Toyota FJ Cruiser with MT-10 loaded on Max+ from Dubai - UAE to Salalah - Oman which included lots of unpaved roads, mountain curves, wet roads and lots on speed bumps more than 1230kms. Max+ performed very well.
Installed License Plate holder and Carrier Tail Light Kit, both are must for legal and safety purposes.
Also purchased Sport Motorcycle Tie Down Bundle, rear wheel innovative wheel strap is amazing and robust. Added one of the basic U-bolt clamps at the hitch interface for additional stability.
But front handlebars tie-down doesn't work well. It damaged accelerator side motorcycle grip and left side ratcheting system stopped working/jammed after two times tightening.

I bought this two weeks ago, but have been quite busy and was just finally able to assemble it today. So I haven’t had a chance to actually use it just yet. I did have to pull up YouTube videos to fill in the gap for assembly instructions which were somewhat lacking. I purchased the Max+ over comparable units based mostly by its positive reviews but also the thoughtful well engineered appearing design on the website. That carries through in person too. It looks purposeful and well designed with a nice finish and components, not cheap or like a backyard project. I bought this to make it easier for me to transport my Harley Sportster and Buell Sport Tourer when need be; mostly to minimize having to ask for help and rides when not convenient. It appears to be a perfect match for my factory towing equipped Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I had been in the market for a hitch carrier for sometime. I have 10 motorcycles and wanted something that was versatile enough for most of them. This fit the bill. It's lightweight compared to the cheaper ones and it holds a variety of different types of motorcycles. I also purchased the handle bar and rear wheel straps as well as the light kit. Everything works as designed.

None of my friends who purchased “cheaper” brands recommended their products, so I kept looking and found MotoTote. I am happy that I did. I appreciate the solid materials and build quality. Had it on several trips of 4-plus hours each way without issue. Holds tight with very little wobble in stock configuration, although I added one of the basic U-bolt clamps at the hitch interface to stiffen up the overall package. Deducted one star because printed instructions were poorly executed. A company with a great product should invest the time and effort into creating a great owners manual (in addition to videos) in my opinion. This is a very good product.
