I was in a unique situation with no longer having a hitch in the stock location. I have a high clearance rear bumper with the hitch integrated behind the license plate which raised my hitch substantially. My previous carrier only worked if I removed my spare tire swing out - which I wanted to avoid. I ended up going with mototote and was back and forth with their email team trying to figure out if this set up with their extended hitch tube would allow me to do the following: Fit the bike with the spare tire swing out, allow me to open the swing out and still allow me to lower my tailgate without striking the wheel chock or any part of the hauler. It was a tough pill to swallow to order the max without knowing if it was going to work and to my surprise, everything worked as planned - with one minor adjustment. In the last pics, I had to trim the inside tray to allow my swing out to swing over top of the unit. Super pleased with the build quality and the fact that this hauler is really the only product that would work with my setup. Happy customer. This review is to mostly just show the pictures with motototes extended hitch tube accessory.

Rack is sturdy, well designed, and easy to use. Loaded my 450 pound adventure bike and drove for 7 hours with no issue. Highly recommend.

I researched carriers. Found one I thought would work, but I canceled the order because I found the MotoTote carrier after my initial searching and decided to get the MotoTote Max 600 lb carrier. I have 2023 Tesla Model Y, assembly of the carrier wasn’t difficult. I had reservations that any carrier would work. I found loading and unloading my 2022 Suzuki DR 650 to be very easy. The built in wheel chock keeps the bike stable enough while attaching the tie down straps. The rack is well made. The design is well thought out. Relatively light weight, and the best feature to me is how the outside tie down points are raised which is very important to reduce the likelihood of scraping because the hitch on my Tesla is very low. Unrelated to the hitch, it does cut the range/efficiency of my Tesla by around 25%. The MotoTote Max 600 lb carrier is an excellent carrier and the motorcycle rides very securely. I’ve recommended it to a friend and he bought one too. More expensive than most other racks but I’m very satisfied with mine. Well worth the additional cost.

Took our first trip with new carrier/rack. Traveled 630 miles on the back of the motorhome with no issues. Very stable and sturdy as advertised. Bike weighs about 500 lbs. Thank you for what you build.

Bought to carry a Kawasaki Versys X 300. Works very well and is stable. Make sure you remove the windshield if you have a taller one installed, the side wind started to shake the windshield violently and had to remove it to prevent total destruction. I have a tall GMC 4x4 full size truck and was able to easily load and unload by myself. The only issue I have had is after carrying bike for about 150 miles is the main bolts that connect the motorcycle portion to the square tubing going into the hitch loosened a bit. I realized this when trying to store the ramp and the holes didn’t line up and had to push it a bit to line them up to secure. The only other gripe I have is it would be nice if you come up with a locking hitch pin or drill out the holes a bit bigger so I can use a standard size locking hitch pin that I use on everything else that I tow.

I bought the MotoTote Max motorcycle carrier a while back and just now put it together and installed it on my truck. It cost a little more but is definitely worth it. High quality materials, well designed, easy to assemble and looks great! Do yourself a favor, don’t cheap out on a motorcycle carrier. Get the best and haul your prized bike with confidence. This carrier exceeded my expectations. When I rolled my Honda XR650L up onto the carrier I was so pleased with the strength and quality of the carrier. It is the best on the market.

I was admittedly a bit skeptical about loading my brand-new, 540-pound BMW GSA 900 onto the back of my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The idea of hauling such a substantial bike had me envisioning worst-case scenarios. For extra peace of mind, I even called MotoTote directly, and their customer service was incredibly helpful and reassuring.

After carefully re-reading my motorcycle liability coverage and reviewing MotoTote’s detailed online instructions, I assembled the MotoTote Max and made sure every bolt was properly tightened. Loading the bike solo was surprisingly manageable, especially with the help of a curbside to reduce the ramp angle. Once the bike rolled into the front wheel chuck, it felt stable right away.

I secured it with the MotoTote straps, double-checked the anti-wobble hitch (which I tightened again for good measure), and hit the road—cautiously at first. But as the miles went by, my confidence in this carrier grew. Even at 75 mph, crossing bridges and hitting minor road imperfections, the bike remained solid with barely any movement.

By the third day, heading home, I still remained aware of the load but felt completely secure in the MotoTote’s performance. After unloading the bike, I inspected the hitch and was impressed by the minimal wear.

In short, this carrier exceeded my expectations. It’s well-built, thoughtfully designed, and has made motorcycle transport so much easier and more mobile. MotoTote really nailed it with this product—highly recommended!
